About Doha

Doha, the capital of Qatar and considered the most populous state of Qatar, located in the east on the coast of the Persian Gulf, and connects with the north of Al Wakrah and south of Al Khor. From the survey of 2015, the total population of Doha is 956,460. Doha declared as a capital in 1971 but before that this city was founded in the late 1820s. This city also has many famous libraries, but libraries are Qatari book house and the other one is the national library. Due to its famous spots, it attracts many tourists every year.

If we talk about Doha religion, then Islam is the official religion in Doha. According to Islam and its practices, all the celebration took place, Muslim celebrate Eid ul fitr and Eid ul Adha with full celebration. Many other people from other religion are also living there like Christian, Hindu and many more in a small percentage. They are allowed to perform their prayers according to their faith and celebrate their events in their houses. Muslims also wish the people according to their event who belong from other religion.

Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque

Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque is also known as the National mosque in Doha, Qatar. Grand mosque Qatar located in Doha

The name of this mosque was given by Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahab which reflects the culture and nation of Doha due to its interior and structure. Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahab, a well known Islamic scholar who named the mosque after (1703-1792) , reopened it to the public in 2011.

The mosque can hold up to 30,000 congregants including women and doors are also open for everyone. The total area covered by this mosque is about 175,000 sq.m. The state mosque is located on a high hill overlooking the Corniche. Grand state mosque has three main doors and 17side entrances. Furthermore, about 65 domes cover the outer area while 28 large domes cover the central hall. Generally, about 30,000 people can pray at a time, including the outdoor area.
